My letter to Mar arrived! She took a picture and it looks like it went through a war-zone. I wish I could ask it what happened between here and Norway.

Newest postcard from Emma and in other postal news I recieved a letter from a new correspondant who lives in Quebec + I’ve also talked to a new penpal who lives in Norway. That gives me three, and I think I’m able to manage.

“The Cavern Club opened as a jazz venue on 16 January 1957 and soon became known as ‘The Most Famous Club in the World’. The iconic status of the Cavern Club is epitomised by the unrivaled list of legendary performers that have played here during the last six decades.
There was no satellite TV in 1965 and it was a monumental decision by French TV to go ahead with this broadcast. It took telephone engineers 3 days to set up the landlines for the transmission. Petula Clark compared the concert and sang her hit single ‘I Know A Place’. Quite a fitting title for the Cavern Club. Sandie Shaw opened the show and mimed as she walked down the stairs before joining her local backing band the Clayton Squares on stage.
